Around Babia Góra

Exit from the center of Zawoja. Then to the right to Wełcza. On asphalt to the end. Now it gets rough. Gravels and forest paths. Especially the first Slovak section about 500 m you have to lead to the asphalt. Then a few kilometers downhill, where we quickly cover the next kilometers. On this section we have several small, but long and tiring climbs. The asphalt ends at the parking lot at the entrance to Babia from the Slovakian side. A bit of gravel, a bit of forest road will take us to the Polish border from where we have a comfortable gravel road and marked bike trails. On the Slovakian side, there are no markings and you have to follow hiking trails. In Zubrzyca G. we get to the main highway. on which we return to Zawoja. First, however, we need to ...And overcome a 4-kilometer uphill climb to Przeł. Krowiarki. After that, a long fast descent to the finish line awaits us.

  • Well, and unfortunately ... On Saturday with my girlfriend we went to Zawoja just to cover this route (according to the clock). Unfortunately, just after turning off the main road 957, it diedand my phone battery and thus we lost navigation :-( We drove as I remembered this route from this side, but force majeure (democratic) ordered us to go to Lipnica and through Jablonka and back through the Krowiarki pass we returned to the car. A total of almost 80 km in 4.5 hours so I do not count this day as lost :-) next time I will print myself maps and cover this route ;-)

  • A very interesting route, varied, some crazy descents, strenuous climbing and even strolling ride, plus beautiful views. The route is quite demanding, for middlingedium-advanced riders just right. Highly recommended!

  • The route for people with reasonably good condition. (Certainly not for the first time...) I suggest going clockwise, i.e. from Zawoja to Krowiarki. (then you have an uphilly on asphalt, and descents through the forest...) It took us about 5 hours with admiring the views and picking raspberries :) ... The route super scenic! ps. I do not suggest to shorten the blue trail over Zawoja - mordenga ....

  • Heavy forest climbs. The sum total of the 1600m climbs gives you a chuckle.
