Knurowska Pass

A very spectacular route. We leave Kroscienko and head towards Nowy Sacz. After about 8 km we turn left to Ochotnica. Here the road will climb slightly uphill for about 20 km. Finally, however, it is the turn to go up to the Knurowska Pass, it is not difficult, because we have climbed high before. Instead, it is very nicely routed. New asphalt is made along its entire length, so the descent towards Knurow will be a great pleasure. We reach the main one and turn to Nowy Targ. There will be more traffic here, but in the NT we turn to Bukowina Tatrzanska to turn left after about 3 km on the straight, just after the climb. Finally, it's quiet. We try to find the road to Nowa Biala and Krempachy ( on the first...ym intersection to the left ). This will take you to Frydman, where you will have a beautiful view of the entire Czorsztyn Lake. However, you have to deal with an equally long uphill first. Then we will have to deal with the downhill, and another uphill :) Well, but it's mountains after all ! We come back through Krosnica, going downhill all the time. I recommend this route to anyone who would like to feel the power of uphill without going to the High Tatras :) And the photos will tell the rest :)

  • Beautiful route. This will be the 2nd stage for me after riding the Debno - Zakopane - Debno route. I will start from the camping site in Debno. There we have a starting point. And the weekend planned:) Of course, it will be May or June.

  • The route is fairly straightforward, but there are also some harder places. In any case, it was fun.

  • Gee, I'm reading and I see that you've caught on to the new asphalt - well, at least most of you. Me, coming back from a long trip (on a road bike), in the middle of summer didn't have aI was so lucky. I crossed the pass the other way around than you did, i.e. I drove from the Knurów side, and descended to Ochotnice. The asphalt, especially on the driveway was in terrible condition. So much so that I had to zigzag between huge potholes, I thought the downhill would make up for everything, but here too an unpleasant surprise. Trenching across the entire width of the roadway. There was probably some sewer work in progress ;( But if they really laid new asphalt there, I will repeat the route. This time, however, maybe from Ochotnice to Knurów.
