From Zywiec to Skrzyczne

Today's route will be one of the more difficult ones. Why? Because in order to go to the top of Skrzyczne we have to spend about 2 hours pedaling hard. We start in Zywiec, from where we head south towards the Zywiec brewery. Just after it, we turn right at the traffic circle and take Lesnianka Street all the way to Ostry. The road leads quietly, climbing slightly. In Ostry, at the crossroads, we go straight, towards the forester's lodge. After passing the hotel on the right, we enter the bicycle road. Now the last kilometers of idyll are ahead of us. We ride through the forest, along the river. At the fork we ride to the right. We pass campgrounds and forest lodges on the left. At the place where the felled trees are stored, we have to sharply start peda...LOW. We turn right at a large fork. The road leads all the way on asphalt, so there should be no problems with orientation. The route begins to climb sharply, while showing the beauty of the surrounding mountains and forests. After about 4 km of sharp pedaling, almost at the top, we will find the last turnout. It's hard to spot, so we have to be alert. Fortunately, you can see from behind the trees the red and white TV mast located at the top of the mountain. It is the perfect landmark, as this is where we need to get to. Ahead of us are the last meters of the climb. A clearing emerges from behind the trees, which announces the end of our effort. We are at the top.

    The description of the route is a little inaccurate because the asphalt ends at 850 m, then there is gravel and at the end loose stones, where you have to push about 30 m. The road gets a littleIt was long because almost to the end you can't see the top, but it wasn't bad. I got to know Skrzyczne from the other side :)

    I have ridden many times, this is one of my favorite routes. However, I never ride through Leśna (exit from Zywiec via Leśnianka street), because it is a very ugly part of the route, noviews, busy road and a lot of crazy and irresponsible "drivers". I recommend driving through Podlesie (from the traffic circle near McDonald's), then just after the school and before the colorful road-post-capital to the right through the valley to Pietrzykowice (head for the well-visible church), and then straight on the road to Lipowa and Zimnik (azimuth Skrzyczne). The road is very quiet, and the views much nicer than in Lesna.

    beautiful route, only I drove from Wêgierska G. uphill I can't say anything about it, one of the most demanding in the Beskids, at least for me, but downhill pierwsza klasa normally not sam owite

    Hi I just traveled this route from Bielsko-Biała via Bystra, Buczkowice, Lipowa, a total of about 69 km in both directions, but I really RECOMMEND. The road itself to Ostrego ( ZIMNIK hotel ) moderately pleasant because we are driving all the time on the main roads, but then it is a fairy tale.

    The route is difficult because from Zywiec we have all the way uphill. But on the way back we can not pedal. There are a lot of cars going to Lipowa, so you have to be careful. Between Lipowaand Zimnik the surface leaves much to be desired: You have to choose which hole is shallower. From Zimnik the ride is sheer pleasure.

  • As in the description "...a little more difficult route...", but it is worth it. He suggests leaving in the afternoon to reach the mountain in the evening. What for? In a word, BAJKA.
