Myslowice - Krakow

The problem of getting to Krakow from the Silesian capital has always been hard for cyclists. We are not allowed to take any highway or national road, so the only suitable route, which does not interfere with the law and will not make us lose time finding our way through the intricate city streets, is the provincial road route. We start in Mysłowice at Katowicka Street and head to provincial road No. 934. We pass through Brzęczkowice, Brzezinka, Kosztowy after which we enter Imielin. We continue to Chelm Sl., where in Kopciowice, at a sharp left turn, we enter provincial road No. 780. After a while, we turn right and, crossing a bridge over the Przemsza River, we enter the Małopolskie Voivodeship, specifically d...About Chelmek. We drive on, following our road through Libiąż and Żarki. After driving for a while, we reach Wygielzow, where we turn right at the traffic circle and continue to stick to our 780. We pass through Kwaczałe and with a few uphill stretches we greet Alwernia, through which we drive on Mickiewicza Street. We continue through Brodła, Kaszów and Liszki, after which we reach Kryspinów. In a moment, we pass under the viaduct with A4 and take Prince Joseph Street towards the center of Cracow. Reaching the Vistula River, we turn right at the snail and keep our route 780. We drive along the Vistula River. We reach the intersection with Aleja Zygmunta Krasińskiego, where we go straight. Now we're still straight to Franciszkańska Street, where we turn onto Bracka Street and enter the Krakow Market Square. The route is the starting route for sightseeing in Cracow.

  • "No highway or national road we are not allowed to drive". - and why is that? While the highway is obviously not allowed, the national road as much as possible.

A nice route for an afternoon relaxation. Took me about 4h (from Katowice). Around Alwernia and Libiaz, a bit more traffic. Similarly, before Krakow. A few hills in the middle of the trasy and a good part of the road surrounded by trees. 90% of the route on good, unpaved asphalt. I recommend a two-day trip, combined with a visit to the valleys near Krakow in Jura.

  • That's what I've been up to, to get to Krakow by bike soon, not by train as usual :). I will try the route, greetings :)
