Through the Dunajec River - Stary Sącz - Zakopane

We set off from Stary Sącz, which we got to completely spontaneously. And since we were already on our way here, the only planned point was Zakopane - to return to Warsaw by train from there. Already in Stary Sącz, looking for a bicycle parts store, we met a cyclist who travels all over Europe by unicycle. He pointed us to a parish in Kroscienko and the parish priest there - a cycling trip enthusiast - as a person worth getting acquainted with. We set off along the Dunajec River. The route is pleasant in that it is gently uphill all the time, with no steep climbs, and the humid, cool air from the river cools perfectly on a hot day. Passing through Łącko, we made attempts to find some kind of...ek point of distribution of the famous plum brandy. Unfortunately to no avail (I guess you need to have connections here...). We reached Kroscienko already at night - we were greeted by a nicely lit bridge. An extremely kind priest took us in and stayed the night, fed us and showed us the way forward. The further route on the Dunajec River - from Szczawnica to Czerwony Klasztor - is a gravel path located on the river itself. Magnificent views and unforgettable experience of riding along a narrow, winding gravel path on the edge of a precipice. Further route is already a little more difficult - there are quite steep and long climbs. The ride was made more difficult by the incessant and even increasingly heavy rain. The road through Gronków, Szaflary, to Biały Dunajec, leads along little busy country roads. The situation is slightly worse on Zakopianka. The road is very busy. All the time steadily uphill. We pass Zakopane, heading to the Marymont Hotel in Kirachy. A few more uphill stretches and we're there, exhausted enough that we didn't take advantage of the pre-booked sauna. The next day we return by the same route to Zakopane, to the train station. Along the way, we still had Krupówki. And so with our bags full of all sorts of cheeses, purchased at one of the stands, we left the capital of the Tatra Mountains.

A pleasant route along the Dunajec River gorge. Despite poor weather conditions (it rained all the time) and a few steep climbs, we drove about 100 km in a few hours - fromStary Sącz (this is where we were brought by a random train we boarded in Krakow) to Kirów (Marymont Hotel).
