Zakopane - Koscielisko

The route described below will allow us to see (assuming good weather) the magnificent panorama of the Tatra Mountains and look deeper into the heart of these magnificent mountains :) We start in Poronin on Kasprowicza Street. For those living/staying in Zakopane - it's best to get to Poronin via Bachledy street, then through Harenda and then already Ustup, up to Kasprowicza street (this way we bypass Zakopianka). Through Kasprowicza street we get to Zakopianka. Here we load up on the sidewalk (quite wide, new, paved). We drive a bit in the direction of Nowy Targ - until we reach the exit to Ząb / Gubałówka. We enter the street and start uphill - the red trail is located here and we follow it. On this street the traffic volume does not je...st too high, but unfortunately low also not. The surface is very decent. The driveway itself up to the village of Ząb is quite straightforward - you just have to screw in at the beginning, and then somehow it flies. There are no more sharp moments here, so you can easily leave with a child on a seat or in a trailer ;) Somewhere in 2/3 of the climb it is good to stop and turn around. Heavenly views of the Tatra Mountains begin here :) This is one of those places where it's really good to turn around - even having a momentary drop in condition after seeing the panorama will immediately improve ;) After reaching the village of Ząb at the crossroads, we head left. We continue the climb - this time already in the direction of Gubałówka. The road is rather obvious - if in doubt, we look for the red trail or a signpost to Gubałówka. Before Gubałówka, the sharpest part awaits us - a short climb with a slightly steeper slope. But even here it should be possible :) After reaching Gubałówka we increase concentration - there is always a max of people here, who are themselves a confirmation of the chaos theory - like lemmings they walk in every direction, fall under the wheels at the least expected moment and practically appear out of nowhere. That's why we're careful - first, because we're the ones who have to give way to them first, and second, because quite a few of these people are the ones who, in a contentious situation, act first and ask later ;) So let's clench our teeth and just drive somehow slowly through this bit :) After Gubałówka we head to Butorowy Wierch. However, we do not go to Butorowy itself - at the intersection from where the red, black and green trails diverge we take the paved road down towards Koscieliska.n At this point, however, we can choose a more off-road option and go down the green trail. I didn't ride it, but if I didn't have a youngster in the back seat - I would probably choose this option :) Going down, we headed for Koscielisko. The road obvious - just downhill. On the way again super views, a pleasant descent well and that old school chairlift above us.... :) After reaching Koscielisko, we turn right and continue downhill towards the national road No. 958. When we reach it, we turn right and head for Chocholow / Czarny Dunajec. Now a few kilometers on the asphalt (all the time slightly downhill). On the way we pass the entrance to the Koscieliska Valley. After a few kilometers we reach the beginning of the Chocholowska Valley. At this point we can consider what to do next. There are several options: 1. rest and return to Zakopane on the national road 958 (this option I chose and I describe it later in the text) 2. we drive up the Chocholowska Valley. Somewhere up to the half is asphalt, and then gravel. The ride is pleasant, the views are great, the descent is divine :) At the end of the valley there is a shelter where you can stop for a while or even sleep. 3. return to Zakopane by Droga Pod Reglami - a very nice option, but I could not choose it due to the fact that I had a little one on the seat in the back - and on this road too tele.... anyway, definitely worth recommending. As if we were to decide on it, it is necessary to drive a bit to the Road Under the Reglami. There is a cross-country trail (cross-country skiing) at the parking lot in Chocholowska Valley. We can drive up it a piece in the direction of Koscieliska Valley. And so we will have to drive a piece on the asphalt (national road 958).
