Route around the Sulejowski Lagoon

The bike trail forms a loop leading around the Sulejowski Reservoir. The trail starts (and ends) at the dam in Smardzewice. It leads, among others, through Tresta Rządowa, Karolinow, Zarzecin, Podklasztorze, Sulejow, Wlodzimierzow, Przygłow, Barkowice, Barkowice Mokre, Lubiaszow, Bronislawow, Swolszewice Duże and Małe, back to Smardzewice dam. Along the route lie, among others, the Cistercian Abbey in Sulejów and the "Lubiaszów" reserve. ...

The route is very attractive, good surface. Large share of forest roads, which I like very much. :) Beautiful views. Also worth a visit is the Cistercian Abbey, which is located on theThe route of passage. Highly recommended!

  • Flat, a lot of sand on forest tracks, paved roads with little traffic. I rode twice,. Cool end, (or beginning-it depends) near the prison service centernna with footbridges among the grasses on the floodplains just off the inlet of the Pilica River into the lagoon.

The route is very varied, but the lack of proper trail signage makes it difficult to ride the route in a good mood.

Super although it would be useful to have better signage on the east side

To start with something on the plus side: The route is nice and interesting, the surface varies from asphalt to deep sand, perfect for a mountain bike. However, it has a huge downside. MarkerNO!!! I don't know what idiot paints signs parallel to the road on the bike path. After all, it is known that the cyclist does not ride 5km and does not have time to constantly look sideways, especially when riding off-road and must watch out for obstacles. If it weren't for this, the route would have gotten a 5/5, and so I remember it moderately.

  • elcidx - the route is NOT suitable for a road bike. The section Zarzęcin-Karolinów is a forest route, in parts hardly passable even by a mountain bike. As for modifications - I think it is wortho try a drive through Bukowiec.

  • Is the route suitable for a road bike? Can any modifications be made to it in this regard?

    • 27.02.2013
  • The route is very pleasant :) In Barkowice you can continue through the forest in the direction of Sulejow, on the way you cross a nice footbridge over the river/pond and continue to leave praktically in Sulejów itself.

  • At the earliest opportunity will try the route, but with a small change ;)

  • In general, the route is quite poorly marked especially its eastern side. But I count the route as a successful one, the views are nice, it's just a pity that every 10 meters an angler and the lack of sometimesloneliness.

  • The route is very poorly marked in places. My worst memory of the section near Karolinowo - there the road is more suitable for quads than for bicycles ;-)
