To the hermitage in Czatachova

I propose you a route to an increasingly popular hermitage located near Zloty Potok recently. Along the way we will see a periodic spring in Zaborze and a lagoon on the Ordonka River, which the aforementioned spring gives rise to (as long as it beats, of course), the remains of a 14th century watchtower in Suliszowice and beautiful Jurassic monuments. We start at the market square in Olsztyn. We head along the asphalt road in the direction of Biskupice (on the way on the left the mainstay of Częstochowa cyclists - the "Leśny" bar, a piece further on the beautiful reserve "Sokole Góry". It is worth spending some time and wandering around the trails there. At the beginning of Biskupice a solid climb awaits us. At the junction in front of the church turn right and then straight ahead. We reach Zaborze (and just...sibly the place where the lagoon was built). There are several resorts in the pine forest. Keeping to the asphalt we will reach the village of Zaborze. At the turnout (on the right a store) we go straight up a solid hill. Even this year the asphalt road went a little higher into gravel road, but it has recently been asphalted. So you can comfortably reach Suliszowice. On the way there are cool limestone rocks. On the outskirts of Suliszowice we turn right (after a while on the left the former gathering well). At the turnout to the right and all the way along the asphalt we get to the top of the hill (built up on the left). There on one of the spurs are the remains of a watchtower (fenced area). From the summit we descend to Stara Wieś. On the left is an old well crane. Driving all the way down, we reach road 793 (Janów - Zarki). We turn right uphill and at the intersection turn left. Now straight to the hermitage. Until 10 years ago it was an isolated area with a small chapel and the hermits lived in small houses. Today the hermits are still there, but a new church is standing next to it, and a fence is being built. It's no longer the atmosphere it once was, but it's still worth going there.

  • Going to Zloty Potok from Czestochowa I managed to pass this route. For beginner cyclists it seems quite challenging. Beautiful landscapes and many attractive miejseconds along the way. Highly recommended!

  • Nice route! And, of course, you can extend it because there are also super areas for cycling in the Trzebniów area.
