Expedition to Zakopane

Route: Tarnów - Lubinka - Zakliczyn - Gródek nad Dunajcem - Nowy Sącz - Łącko - Krościenko nad Dunajcem - Czorsztyn - Gronków - Biały Dunajec - Zakopane The route is 100% on asphalt, main roads limited to a minimum. The route is long - 165 km, driving time is about 8h. The beginning of the route consists of 3 uphill stretches - Lubinka, Paleśnica and a drive near Lake Rożnowskie. The section from Nowy Sącz to Nowy Targ is flat with small hills near Lake Czorsztyńskie. The last section is an uphill ride on Zakopianka about 20 km. A very attractive route, leading through almost all of Lesser Poland to the capital of the Polish Tatra Mountains - Zakopane. The route begins by leaving Tarnów and heading to Lubinka. At this momentc ...You have to watch out for the downhill - serpentines which are dangerous after rainfall. Then we head to Zakliczyn - there we can visit the market square and the center. After visiting Zakliczyn we head through Paleśnica to Lake Rożnowskie - an artificial reservoir. Here we can stop for a while on the beach or in the nearby bars/restaurants. Now we are facing a hilly stage to Nowy Sacz - another large city on the route that is worth visiting. Then a 60 km stretch of flat road to Nowy Targ awaits us. On the way we pass only the most interesting villages - Łącko and Krościenko nad Dunajcem, where we can take a rafting trip on the Dunajec River. The next lake on the route is the Czorsztyńskie Lake, from now on we can observe the beautiful view of the Tarts. Then the last and least pleasant section awaits us - 20 km of the final section of Zakopianka. After dealing with this road we already arrive straight to our destination where we can spend the night at 3 campsites or in a guesthouse.

    Feedback

  • My favorite of the longer routes, in the direction of Zakopane the road leads successively uphill, so in this direction the ride is harder, although the hardship of the ride will reward us with sightseeinganie of Zakopane and the Tatra Mountains.
