Jan Kasprowicz visited Zakopane regularly, until in 1923 he decided to settle permanently in Podhale and bought a villa in Harenda , a beautiful historic house standing Halfway between Zakopane and Poronin and lived in it with his wife Maria. The villa was built in 1920 by Jan Fudala-Kluś, in the Zakopane style, modeled after a highlander's cottage with a vestibule on the axis of the entrance, and the entrance itself leads through a veranda. The villa is with a so-called black room, housing a dining room and a lounge, and a white room, where a bedroom was placed. Willa Kasprowicza na Harenda very quickly became center of cultural life of Zakopane , a meeting place for many well-known figures of the time, frequented among others Kornel Makuszyński, Stefan Żeromski, Zofia Nałkowska, or another outstanding Polish poet, Leopold Staff. Here and in the cafes of Zakopane held long discussions on the veranda in summer decorated with Kasprowicz's favorite nasturtiums.
After the poet's death, On the initiative of Maria Kasprowiczowa and his friends , erected in front of the villa granite mausoleum of Jan Kasprowicz, designed by Karol Stryjeński . It now houses a museum dedicated to the life and work of Kasprowicz, created on the initiative of his wife Maria.
