Kazimierz Dolny - Nałęczów - Janowiec

Kazimierz Dolny and its surroundings have several tourist attractions that are worth seeing. Kazimierz Dolny itself is very picturesque and does not need much advertising. I would like to suggest visiting the surrounding area, as it is well worth a visit. From the center of the town, we head northeast first, along the Vistula River promenade, and after reaching Bochotnica, we continue east. The terrain here is slightly undulating with one longer uphill and downhill, just before Naleczow. In the spa itself, I recommend the spa park with the pump room, the sanatorium building and the Malachowski palace with the Boleslaw Prus museum. In order not to return along the same busy road, I suggest partially returning along the red bicycle trail. The trail odn...We arrive at H. Wiercińskiego Street, on the outskirts of Nałęczów. In Wąwolnica we cross the road Kazimierz Dolny Nałęczów, and behind the village, past the cemetery, we turn right, heading for Kazimierz Dolny. Past the village of Rzeczyca Kolonia, we turn right onto DK 824, and after a few hundred meters turn left. Behind the village of Wylęgi, on the right, we find one of the biggest attractions of the area, the Korzeniowy Dół gorge. There are many such loess ravines in this area, but this one is the most beautiful. After entering Kazimierz, we turn left and after a few hundred meters, we come across, on the left side of the road, the Wailing Wall, or the former Jewish cemetery. We continue on, past a large hotel, turn right and go straight to the very end of the street. Then down a forest road until we reach a high escarpment, on the bank of the Vistula River. The view from here is breathtaking. On the right, the Vistula River winds, in front of us, the roofs of a small village, further on the hill a beautiful windmill (no wind turbine there), on the right behind the Vistula, in the distance, also on the escarpment, above the village, you can see the bright walls of the castle in Janowiec. To get there, head along the Vistula toward Kazimierz Dolny, then after going down the road to the promenade , turn left to the ferry crossing. On the other side of the Vistula, after driving one kilometer, you will reach Janowiec. It is a charming large village over which tower, partially ruined walls of Janowiec Castle. A cobbled, steep road leads to the castle, hard to cycle on. In addition to the aforementioned castle, with a magnificent view of the Vistula valley, on the grounds adjacent to the castle, there is a historic manor house with outbuildings. After a break, we move on and head towards the second ferry crossing, in this area. On the way, you can turn right on a dirt road to see the magnificent panorama of Kazimierz Dolny, seen from the other side of the Vistula River. Finally, a little curiosity, a large part of the remaining road to the ferry, is an avenue of walnut trees, stretching for probably two kilometers. The second ferry is quite a bit smaller than the previous one and has the name Syrokomla, which, was the name of the village of Janowiec until 1537. On the eastern bank of the Vistula, we reach Bochotnica again and further to Kazimierz Dolny, where we end our trip.

Super route. Taken on short notice, because there was no more time to plan where to go and what to see. I broke it up into 2 days.
