  • The Regional Museum is housed in a historic building from the late 18th century - the so-called Opatówka - the former home of the abbot of the Cistercians of Wągrowiec. During renovation works, the preservedhe architecture of the building and the former layout of the rooms were restored (with minor changes). The museum's collection numbers more than 3,500 musealia. In addition to collecting collections, the museum organizes permanent and temporary exhibitions, as well as various forms of popularization and educational activities, which are used by residents of the city and district. For interested groups and individuals, the museum provides a guide to the monuments of the city and the surrounding area. Among museum events, the most important annual event since 1998 is the Wągrowiec Cistercian Festivals. This two-day event is not only very popular among the residents of Wągrowiec and the surrounding area, but also has its regular fans from various parts of the country and abroad. Currently, the building is the headquarters of the Regional Museum. Permanent exhibitions are devoted to the history of the city and the folk culture of the Paluki region (the so-called "fisherman's hut") The Regional Museum has a rich collection of historical and ethnographic collections (including the "fisherman's hut" and collections of Paluki art).
