    Unique Stay: January 2010

Wooden 19th-century residential building built in the early part of the century by a Masurian peasant-farmer. The foundation is missing. The building was not decorated, in the middle of theu dark, as it was years ago. It used to be covered with reeds, like most village buildings. At the top on the side of the street shoots up into the sky "azdur" fulfilled the role of warding off evil spirits . The fact that the village building now stands in the city is due to the fact that at the time of erection this part of Szczytna was a village called Bartna Strona. In 1913, the area was annexed to the city. After World War II, four such buildings stood on what is now Konopnicka Street(former Yorkstrasse), but they were destroyed.
