  • Goczałkowickie Lake[1] (Goczałkowicki Reservoir) ? a dammed reservoir on the Vistula River created in 1956 by damming up river waters with a dam in Goczałkowice-Zdrój in woj.he Silesian province. The maximum area of the reservoir is 3,200 hectares, and the total capacity is about 168 million m? The length of the dam is 2980 m.[2] It is a retention reservoir supplying water to part of the Upper Silesian Industrial District. In addition to water supply, it also has other economic functions, such as flood control, tourism and recreation. The area around the reservoir is a breeding ground for many species of birds. During a major modernization in 2003, the crown of the lagoon and the "walking part" connecting Goczałkowice-Zdrój with Zabrzeg, were renovated, making the Goczałkowicki Reservoir a recreational place for local residents. The only major tributary flowing naturally into Goczałkowicki Lake is the Bajerka stream.
