  • The building that houses the Museum of Sports and Tourism in Karpacz was erected socially by its residents on land donated by the municipality in 1932-36.From the beginning, it was intended for museum purposes. The local community was proud to boast of its long history and achievements in front of a visiting public not only from all over Lower Silesia, but also from other regions of Europe. It was a so-called Regional Museum, similar to those established at the time in the more prosperous cities of Lower Silesia. It hosted an exhibition on regional themes, primarily dedicated to the area. After the end of World War II, this museum was opened to the public. Unfortunately, the museum was soon closed and the museum collection was transferred to other museums in the country. The building was used for residential purposes. Efforts to establish a museum facility in Karpacz anew were made in 1971. The opening of the Museum of Sport and Tourism of the Karkonosze Region in Karpacz, as a branch of the Museum of Sport and Tourism in Warsaw, took place on September 3, 1974. Since January 1, 2003. The Museum of Sport and Tourism in Karpacz is an independent cultural institution of the local government of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
