I was a little afraid of the red trail approach from Karpacz because of the kids, but we made it. People on the summit crowds, Czechs have it easier, because they can take on the mountain itself.manually lift out, but it's probably not as much fun as walking in.
20.08.2015Snezhka gives what we expect from the mountains - an unforgettable landscape that remains.I gladly return to this place, even though it takes us a lot of time and effort to get there.
18.08.2014I always gladly visit this place. And yet, as if here in the anking was ""Samotnia"
18.08.2014The massif of Sněžka is formed by a distinctive rock pyramid rising more than 200 meters above the surrounding ridges. For most of the year there are very harsh conditions on it atmosphere: low temperatures, gusty winds, heavy rain and snowfall. When the weather is nice, there is a magnificent view of the mountains and the Jeleniogórska Basin from the top of Śnieżka. The first ascent of Sněžka was probably made in the middle of the 15th century. The chapel built on the summit in 1681 was dedicated to the patron saint of guides, St. Lawrence, and a mass is celebrated there once a year (August 10). The symbol of Sněžka is the saucer-like and called ?flying saucers? building of the Meteorological Observatory. The Environmental Education Point ? Meteorological Exposition ? is located in the High Mountain Meteorological Observatory on Snezka. Meteorological devices are presented there, and tours of the observatory are also made possible. In 1949, a two-section chairlift from Pec pod Snezkou was opened, with a transfer station to Ružove hora (its capacity was about 600,000 people per year). This resulted in a surge of tourists from the Czech side. Also contributing to the increase in traffic was a chairlift from Karpacz to Kopa, launched in 1959 (with a similar capacity). A food court in the form of a restaurant is also located on Śnieżka. The summit, protruding 200 meters above the Plane below Sniezka, is a place from which one can admire magnificent panoramas. Visibility in favorable conditions exceeds 200 km. The mountain is a place of pilgrimage for tourists not only from Poland. Crowded in summer, in winter it often shines empty due to weather conditions that make it difficult to climb. The Polish-Czech Friendship Road runs through Sněžka. From the observation deck you can admire the vast panorama of the Karkonosze Mountains.
