18.06.2010The old pier in Brest was built at the end of the 19th century. It was an extension of Zdrojowa Street. Today, all that remains of it are the concrete remains at the entrance to the beach by Park Haffnera. At first it was about 100 meters long, then 215 meters (about 170 meters long from the shoreline) and was 6 meters wide. Even before World War I, there was a tramway line that reached directly over the pier. However, it succumbed to destruction. A new one was erected as part of the construction of the bathing beach in Brzeźno in 1993-1996. It was built as an extension into the sea of the pedestrian walkway located on Czarny Dwór Street. It thus became one of the most interesting places. The closest place to the pier is Zaspa. From the farthest point of the settlement, a half-hour walk is enough to find yourself on the beach. At the pier there are pubs where you can drink and eat something.
