Podlasie Stork Route

The trail follows forest and dirt roads, along the valleys of the Narew and Biebrza rivers. It connects three national parks: Białowieża, Narewka and Biebrza. The route begins in Bialowieza (Natural History Museum) and leads through the forests of the forest through Narewka and Suszcza to the Narew River, where there are historic Orthodox churches and a church. It continues along the river through Suraż and Turośń to the Narew National Park, called the Polish Amazonia. The route passes through the villages of Jenki and Pajewo to historic Tykocin, where you can visit the 18th-century post-Bernadin monastery complex and one of the largest synagogues, built in the XBII century (now a museum with monuments of Jewish culture). Then, through the marshy areas of the Biebrzanski Park ...National, near the 19th-century Osowiec Fortress to Goniadz. There are also plans to extend the trail to Wigry National Park and Suwałki Landscape Park.

The designated route is a section of the red Podlaskie Stork Trail from Bialowieza to Goniadz. I divided this route into two sections. Bialowieza ? Suraż this route crossesde first of all enchants with its beautiful Orthodox churches and peculiar old buildings that transport us as if in time. In the village of Ordynki you need to deviate from the trail and go to the skyt (hermitage ? attention required decent attire). Another place where it is worth deviating from the trail is the town of Narew where there is a beautiful blue Orthodox church and a wooden church (from here you can return through the fields to the trail going to the village of Ancuty). In the village of Puchy, which is on the trail, there is an Orthodox church which is built into the ground. Passing through Kaniuki the trail turns almost 90 degrees and it is worthwhile here to go about 100m into a sandy road and reach an agritourism farm. Kożany another nice Orthodox church. And in Suraż you can find a museum of shrines by the trail. Suraż ? Goniadz on this section of the route, an undoubted attraction is the seat of the Narwiański Park Narodowy( near the village of Pszczółczyn) at which there are piers and a didactic path (sunrise in such surroundings will knock you out). At the bifurcation of the red trail with the blue one going towards the forest you will reach the former bridge there is an information board describing the history of this place and the former fortification. Tykocin a charming place. Another thing that captivated me was the coniferous forests in the Biebrza National Park, riding this section is relaxing. Generally this route has something magical in itself, I am glad that I rode it, but I would not do the same route a second time. The gravel sections can be tiring - it's like riding on a racetrack. Marking of the trail is, however, sometimes the choice of marked place is unfortunate.
