Maniowy is a village with a really interesting history - the old Maniowy gave way to Czorsztyńskie Lake, which is to be a flood protection for towns located in the Dunajec Valley. Despite a completely different look than before, Maniowy arouses interest in its appearance. It is now a structured "housing estate" in which the houses are very similar to each other - residents could choose one of four house designs in which they want to live. The fact that there are only four types of houses throughout the village makes this place truly original and atmospheric.
Interestingly, we can watch a movie about the life of the inhabitants of the old village - a documentary film "Zapora" by Irena Kamieńska. It tells about the problems of people connected with the necessity to leave existing homes and shows the old look of the village. After watching the movie - it's worth coming here again and watching how everything has changed!
Maniowy is a really beautiful and original village - in addition to its interesting history, it is a place where you can relax in the bosom of nature, and going to Lake Czorsztyńskie - you can imagine how the "old" life looked like here.
