  • The museum is one of the oldest museum institutions in the Lubuskie region - it was established in 1922 as the German Heimatmuseum, implementing the then fashionable idea of regionalismto him and sought to document the history of the "small homeland." It has been operating as a Polish museum since 1945. Its collections include more than 17,000 exhibits gathered in several departments - the Department of Ancient Art, the Department of Contemporary Art, the Historical Department and the Wine Department, the only one in Polish museology. The Museum's permanent exhibitions are: Museum of Wine, Museum of Old Torture, Sacred Art of Lubuskie Silesia, Gallery of Marian Kruczek, Gallery of Tadeusz Kuntze, Gallery of Stained Glass by Maria Powalisz-Bardońska, Zielona Góra - the beginnings and development of the city, Gallery of the Piast princes of Lubuskie Silesia and Clock Room. The museum boasts great dynamism, as evidenced by a very rich and interesting range of temporary exhibitions. They include both ancient and contemporary art, as well as the latest trends in modern art, and are intended for the entire spectrum of audiences - from pre-school children, through schoolchildren, adults and seniors.
