The only surviving one of the five city gates, dating like the city fortifications from the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries (the first mention comes from a document from 1324). In the presentThe shape has existed since 1491. It constituted the entrance gate to the city from the south ( from Paczków). The other gates demolished between 1780 and 1850 were named Grodzka, Nyska, Wroclawska and Tkacka.
