Nickel, Chrysoprase and Opal Mine in the village of Szklary Huta. Center of Lower Silesian Green Gold. This is a unique place in Poland and Europe, due to the exit of theThe valuable gemstones found here include beautiful green Chrysoprase, milky-white Opals and red-tinged Carnelian. King Frederick II the Great of Prussia was extremely fond of them. Thanks to him, Chrysoprase was called "Lower Silesian Green Gold." In 1893, a mine of nickel ores and precious, jewel-like stones is opened here. In 1914, another adit was opened - the "Robert" adit ( Robert Stollen ), in which the Underground Educational Route operates. It should be noted that the second place with such a huge deposit of accumulated precious stones ( minerals ) as Szklary used to be is now Australia. So you have a unique opportunity to see these beauties without having to go to another continent. The mine is visited by: - individuals - organized groups - students of geology, geography, mineralogy - elementary and middle schools More information on the official website of the underground route: kopalniaszklary .pl
