I visited the Orzechowskie Dunes twice, a few days apart. Each time they were different; once in autumn coat, once in winter coat. And I imagine that in summer or spring, when sparse plants green up on the sand, the landscape here can look quite different. Even more interesting. "Orzechowska Dune" is a fragment of a frontal moraine about 600 meters from the seashore, rising about 50 meters above the level of the Baltic Sea and 23 meters above the adjacent coastal plain to the east and south. Partly forested, partly uncovered, the sizable sand mountain is protected in the reserve, through which a didactic path has been laid out with boards telling about the mechanisms of dune formation and the vegetation overgrowing the sand mounds.
