•
IV Warsaw Festival of Belarusian Cinema "BULBAMOVIE 2014"
October 24-26, 2014. Muranów Cinema, 5 Andersa St. Free admission.

FestThe Bulbamovie film ival is not a 2-3 day one-year and one-time event. It is a process thatóry ongoing and programmed to achieve a goal. To promote young independent Belarusian twórcós and to familiarize the Polish viewer with cinematography, „whichós not there and will not be” as the protagonist of Andrei Kudzinienko's first film „Mystery. Occupation”.

The festival is maturing, so this fourth time must give the viewer complete satisfaction. It has been divided into 3 items:

I item: the Belarusian-Ukrainian-Polish tró during which last year's winners of the festival competition (Arciom Lobacz and Ales Lapo) took part in the project „Young about Young”. By Polish documentary filmmakersów. There, togetherólly with their young Ukrainian and Polish brothers, under the guidance of Jacek Bławut, Maciej Drygas, Marcel Łoziński, Mirosław Dembiński, among others, they worked on feature-length documentaries. The effects in the form of thirteen BY-UKR-PL trailersóll be seen on the first day of the festival. This Friday eveningór, which is a nod to Ukraine, is scheduled to include a screening of Sergei Loznitsa's latest documentary titled. „Majdan”. There will also be a premiere of a new feature film by prominent Belarusian documentary filmmaker Viktar Aśliuk, titled „Russian. „Ruski”. This film is a common „contemporary Belarusian „półkownik” lying on the „silvanovich” bookshelf. During the festival there will be an unveiling of something that was officially realized and covered with a red-green sheet after its completion.

II item: Doing things differently: a day of alternatives, i.e. competition films and, to top it off, three contemporary alternative films by Nong, Myslukov and Myczka. Entering the alternative, we will feel the professional Hollywood with the smell of imperial Minsk. We'll go on a porsche trip in search of a mascot in the Belarusian provinces and a comedy prób happening in almost real Belarus. In a word, an amazing melange thatóry only a psychoanalyst can explain. This year, this role will be played by the mainór presenter of the Bulbamovie festival, Belarusian film critic, culturologist Maksim Zhbankou.

Third item: From the past into the future: a perspective, is a reaching back into the bright past of Belarusian cinema to achieve a new cinematic style. On Sunday morning, Bulbamovie will treat Vinahradov and his „Eastern Corridor” (1966), and in the evening with a presentation of „The Secret of the Humpbacked Den”(2014) – the first etude of the newly-formed Ogóln-Belarusian project „Chronotope” – that is, a mythological, commonómodern, film map of Belarus.

Finally, Andrei Kudzinienka will present a couple of his techniques (he mixes documentary with fairy tale, thriller and psychedelia in the cauldron), i.e. after 10 years of film wandering he returns to offbeat cinema. In Warsaw, we will see his latest film titled Hard Reboot. The author describes it as cinema therapy: for himself and the musical group Noize MC, which appears in the film. In the Belarusian-Lithuanian borderland, in a poppy-faint, we will see Belarusian Kurt Cobein…

Operóon top of that, there will be the traditional consumption of „bulba”, meetings with filmmakers and talks about cinema.

Project co-ófinanced by the Department of Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the framework of the 2014 Polish-Belarusian Joint Action competition.

Festival trailer:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyAJxCGBtQg&list=UUI25aJNc_zx0uLoYvy5Brmg

Festival program: http://bulbamovie.pl/program&lang=en
Festival website: http://bulbamovie.pl/main&lang=en
Festival funpage: https://pl-pl.facebook.com/bulbamovie
CONTACT: Janusz Gawryluk, tel: 605-605-637 Mail: sunduk@bulbamovie.pl
