Bread Museum

Bread Museum

Feedback

  • The creator of the Bread Museum, Piotr Mankiewicz, can be counted among passionate collectors of the highest level. As always, it all started with innocent "collecting" and kup artifacts at antique fairs, but when the collections began to take up more and more space the thought of creating a museum came. There was even an idea to place this museum in an old historic tenement house built by a craftsman-baker in Bytom on Jainty Street. Thanks to city officials, this did not come to fruition and the tenement - a monument - with a beautiful pediment, an antique oven in the store and a baker's store in the back is still deteriorating. For this reason, the museum found its place in Radzionków. By building a part of the museum from scratch and adapting the existing storage halls, Piotr Mankiewicz got his way. On 26.04.2000 there was a ceremonial opening and consecration of the Bread Museum, in the presence of provincial municipal authorities and a representative of Deputy Prime Minister Leszek Balcerowicz.
