    Unique Stay: June 2013

A wonderful place, which few people know that inside hides a wonderful cafe Crooked Caffe. You can drink coffee there receiving to it a real Torun gingerbread, spend a wonderful times on the terrace, which offers a view of the boulevard and the other side of the Vistula River which especially has its charm at night. On weekends, I recommend enjoying horseradish vodka in the pleasant company of other guests :)

  • A distinctive accent of Torun's Old Town - a medieval city tower, owing its name to its significant deviation from the vertical, which is 1.40 meters. Built zost stood in the 14th century as a 15-meter high watchtower blended into the system of defensive walls. Already in the Middle Ages, under the weight of the building, the sandy ground subsided, causing the tower to lean. In the 18th century, the tower ceased to serve a defensive function and was used as a women's punishment cell. In the 19th century, the tower was converted into a blacksmith's shop and an apartment for a gunsmith, and even later, it was completely re-purposed for residential use. The Gothic hipped roof was then replaced with a new one - a pent roof. Nowadays, a café and a souvenir kiosk are located in this interesting building.
