St. James Wooden Church

Feedback

  • The church is the most valuable monument in Szczyrk, but most importantly it creates the atmosphere and history of the village located in the Silesian Beskid area. Zbudow was built between 1797 and 1800, and later expanded between 1937 and 1939. The building was erected from tie-beams, surrounded by a fence and situated on a hill with a wooden staircase leading up to it. The interior of the temple was decorated in Baroque style. It features a side altar with a painting of John of Nepomuk from the 18th century and his relics.Attention is also drawn to the Baroque turret with a bell from 1820. The church is located in the center of Szczyrk, at 107 Beskidzka Street.
