The main group of the Marine Department's accumulated collections are technical objects. These are primarily shipboard equipment, structural elements of ships,Petty Officer's equipment and also propulsion devices. Another group is made up of navigational instruments and aids, including a collection of historical and contemporary nautical charts and radio communication devices. A significant part of the collection is made up of reduction models of vessels, consisting of merchant ships, port and auxiliary floating rolling stock, as well as historic ships and vessels. The collections of the Maritime Department are presented in two permanent exhibitions, "The History of Shipping on the Baltic from the Eighth to the Nineteenth Century" and "Poland at Sea from 1920 to 1945."
