Fantastic place! My sister and I made our own sheets of paper, printed, operated a guillotine.... One for paper of course.
27.08.2014The Museum of Printing Art and Papermaking in Suprasl has been in operation since May 2014. Thanks to lovers of printing and its history, the Suprasl monastery has created 2 sBut unusual exhibits related to printing. The museum is located in the Supraśl monastery, since it was here that the Basilian Fathers launched a Uniate printing house in 1695, and just 15 years later also a paper mill on the Supraśl River. The museum's exhibits include printing presses (the oldest from the mid-18th century), replicas of printing presses, and a German printing crucible from the 19th century. Museum staff present various printing techniques: copperplate, lithography or offset printing. The most interesting and at the same time a major educational attraction is the opportunity to make your own sheet of paper in the museum. The opportunity to learn so directly about the secrets of paper production will certainly remain in the memory for a long time. Visitors, like Jan Gutenberg, can make prints on a replica of a 15th-century printing press.
