Jan Pazdura Museum of Nature and Technology EcoMuseum

The Museum of Nature and Technology EcoMuseum in Starachowice is a unique place on the map of Polish attractions. Situated in the Świętokrzyskie province, the complex consists of six permanent exhibitions and a variety of temporary exhibitions, including those on photography, painting and historical monuments. The most important permanent exhibition is the blast-furnace plant, which operated in the mid-to-late 19th century. Preserved buildings include, for example, the engine house or the hopper hall, converted into a brickyard in 1927. The Blast Furnace, which was extinguished in 1968, is also an important exhibit at the EcoMuseum in Starachowice. Since its operation was halted, the space began to be overgrown with a green park. An Archeopark has been arranged on its grounds, housing a reconstruction of a smelting settlement from 2,000 years ago. It is worth noting the shaft and pot furnaces reproduced here, as well as the blacksmith's workshop and the hut of a goldsmith or amber worker. One of the most valuable collections of the EcoMuseum in Starachowice is also a collection of antique cars. It includes vehicles such as the Star 20, produced in 1948-1957, a replica of the Polish papamobile, the Star 660M2, and a participant in the tenth edition of the Paris-Dakar Rally - the Star 266R. Production of Star cars ceased in 2006, so a visit to the Museum of Nature and Technology will undoubtedly be a treat for automotive fans. The museum also periodically hosts vernissages and interesting seminars, and for children there are group workshops in ceramics, bread baking or decoupage. Little explorers who are interested in history or technology will also find something for themselves. The Museum of Nature and Technology EcoMuseum in Starachowice is open from Tuesday to Sunday. During the summer season (from April 1 to the end of October), on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays you can visit between 8 am and 4 pm, and on Thursdays an hour longer. On weekends the museum can be visited between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. In late autumn and winter (November 1-March 31) the facility can be visited between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. (Tuesday-Friday) or 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. (Saturday and Sunday).
