Lighthouse

Formally, the lighthouse in Sopot is no longer a lighthouse, but it continues to be called so. The observation tower with the light is open to the public.

Feedback

  • In 1903, a balneological facility was built in Sopot, which existed until World War II. After the end of hostilities, the facility was taken over by the city. A bathhouse was arranged there. In 1956, the building was transferred to the Rheumatology Hospital. When the hospital's boiler room was modernized in 1975, the previously very troublesome smoky chimney became unnecessary. It was rebuilt and a light source was placed on it. Initially, this light was not considered a beacon due to its short range (5 Mm), and only after the optical-lighting device was changed did it become a beacon.
