The Palm House is a great place to spend a family Sunday afternoon. The facility is divided into nine pavilions, each providing different attractions. In the pavilionilon one, which imitates the subtropics, you can see a lot of palm trees and climbing plants, while pavilion three is a huge aquarium where you will see about 170 species of fish from different parts of the world. The facility also includes Wilson Park, which serves as the Municipal Botanical Garden. The park is divided into a northern part, maintained in the French style, and a southern part, in the English style, which includes artificially created ponds and hills and an alpinarium.
20.08.2013Fully fenced and closed for the night, Wilson Park - extends over an area of 6.6 hectares. There are 6 gates leading to it, the most magnificent 3-bay gate is located at theGlogowska Street. The park is surrounded from the side of Glogowska and Bervinsky streets by two historic fences, reconstructed in 1993 on patterns dating back to 1926 and 1928. The park consists of two parts - the southern one, with ponds, artificial hills and an alpinarium is maintained in the English style, imitating wild nature. The northern, adjacent to the Palm House in French, characterized by a geometric arrangement of paths and vegetation. Due to the abundance of plant species, the park was once called the Botanical Garden. Wilson Park - is a heavily wooded area. Poznań Palm House is one of the oldest gardens of its kind in Europe. Its unique collections include 17 thousand plants belonging to 1100 species. In 10 exhibition pavilions you can also come across, among others, a green iguana, turtles, parrots and even pythons.
