The factory was built in 1938, produced aviation fuel to supply the Third Reich's planes, and was a frequent target of Allied attacks. Podczas numerous air raids suffered the city itself, which then lost the town hall (including the fire station building), the church building and numerous residential buildings suffered, the last air raid took place on March 8, 1945. The ruins still "haunt" today, but it is, by the way, one of the largest bat habitats in Europe and the world. Part of the factory site is occupied by the new Police economic zone, the factory also has an enthusiasts' club, tours are also organized for foreigners, and bbc has a plan to make a documentary film about the place. To this day, armed aerial bombs are still found on the site of the former factory as well as throughout the city. The site borders the Police Chemical Plant SA.
