  • Construction of a more than 350-meter-long walking pier completed with a restaurant should be completed soon. The ordering party: Municipality - City of Plock ? Municipal Complex of Sportowe The pier will begin near where the Broniewski stairs lead to the Vistula waterfront. It will be more than 350 meters long and will end at the site of the current concrete spur. The City Hall will pay PLN 15 million for its construction to a consortium centered around Bilfinger Berger. The facility will be built in a very short time - just 25 weeks. The pier is only part of a plan to rebuild Plock's waterfront and redevelop the entire Vistula River waterfront. The City Hall plans to renovate it, build underground infrastructure on it (including bringing water and electricity to Sobotka), as well as erect a recreation center building, make a parking lot for nearly 300 vehicles, a harbor, a water and horse police station, a large shack, etc. The construction of a new marina, along with the necessary buildings, plazas, roads, sidewalks, bicycle paths, and small architecture and greenery, has been postponed for the time being. However, the City Council has started with the construction of the pier - the most impressive of the waterfront development program elements. Especially since it will not be just a pier for strolling - it will end with a restaurant building. At the end of the pier will be a restaurant building. Its shape is to resemble an inverted cone. The structure of the year-round building will be steel, the walls - glass. The whole will be illuminated (lamps on pylons) and adapted to the needs of the disabled. The entrance to the pier will be in this area of the Vistula waterfront, accessed by Broniewski stairs. The more than 350-meter-long pier, running in an arc from roughly the descent from the Broniewski stairs to Mora, will be supported by concrete piles 1 to 1.2 meters in diameter, driven into the ground to a depth of more than 24 meters. The pier will be 357.8 meters long and is to run in an arc from the descent from the Broniewski stairs to Morska. Its width will range from 5.3 meters at the base section to 10.3 and 15.3 meters at the end section, where a restaurant/cafe will be located. The pier has been designed so that it will not be threatened by ice phenomena on the river and the water level recorded during the 1982 winter flood. The beginning of the pier is planned at the height of the steps leading to the monument to Wladyslaw Broniewski, and it will continue along an arc from east to west. The wooden pier will be laid on an iron structure mounted on piles. The restoration part will stand on a reinforced concrete slab, also supported on piles and a steel structure. Along with the platform, the electrical and water infrastructure necessary for the café will be constructed. The premises will be air-conditioned and accessible to the disabled. The usable area is 172.71 square meters. Plock City Hall began the investment this spring, the facility worth more than PLN 15 million is almost 360 meters long. At the end of the pier there will be a restaurant building, the shape of which resembles an inverted cone. The structure of the year-round building is steel, and the walls are made of glass. The entire structure will be illuminated by lamps on pylons and will be adapted for the disabled. The entrance to the pier will be at the level of the Broniewski stairs. Next year, floating pontoons will be attached to the pier, providing protection against waves from the lagoon, as well as for mooring boats, yachts and ships. However, this is only a prelude to the construction of a real yacht harbor at this location. Between the pier and the wharf, more than 200 vessels will be able to dock in the future. The largest ones, of course, will not enter the port, but will moor at the pier. Nearby, at the site of the beach on the Vistula River, a parking lot for cars and coaches will be built.
