The city is located on a high escarpment over the Vistula River - a picturesque panorama that has delighted artists, travelers for centuries, for the people of Plock is a source of pride. VisitIn the ancient capital of Mazovia, it is worth starting from Tumskie Hill. It is dominated by the two towers of the ducal castle, which today houses the Diocesan Museum. Opposite proudly rises the Cathedral Basilica. There you can see polychromes shrouded in twilight, the Royal Chapel and in it the sarcophagus of Wladyslaw Herman and Boleslaw Krzywousty. Not far from the castle and the cathedral is the oldest school in Poland - the Marsz. Stanislaw Malachowski, called by everyone "Malachowianka". It is worth visiting this age-old building, its oldest part and underground. In the Old Market Square we will see the "House under the Trumpets", the Town Hall, charming tenement houses, an illuminated fountain, next to the picturesque Grodzka Street and Tumska Street with a promenade. In Plock, great history is intertwined with chemistry, and the chimneys of a powerful corporation tower over the centuries-old monuments. This city delights and makes you want to return to it.
