A few dozen meters from the monument to the Millennium of the Polish State, on Victory Square, stands a monumental statue of Pope John Paul II, the work of the Cracow artist, Wladyslawa Dudek. As the inscription says, the monument was dedicated on June 4, 2006 by Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz in the presence of Archbishop Jozef Kowalczyk ? the apostolic nuncio in Poland, and the bishops of the Koszalin-Kolobrzeg diocese.
