  • The origins of the said cathedral can be traced back to the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries. Pelplin Cathedral is full of priceless monuments that cannot be described in words - you have to comeAND SEE... the beautiful stalls in the pattern of an "enclosed garden," the pulpit, the main altar of St. Mary's (the largest in Europe), as well as 22 other altars arranged in the cathedral, depicting scenes from the lives of saints and the Scriptures, confessionals, pews, the throne of the bishops of Pelplin, paintings on the walls, stained glass windows.... and many more beautiful monuments testifying to the power of the Cistercian order. All this creates an unforgettable impression.
