The Paczków town hall was built in the mid-16th century, but it has been rebuilt many times, so only the town hall tower has retained its original Renaissance character, whose construction was most likely completed in 1552. It is one of the best-preserved Renaissance towers in Silesia and provides an excellent vantage point from which to view the panorama of the entire city. The tower, square at the bottom and octagonal at the top, has nine stories inside. It is topped with a porch and a brick pyramidal cupola with a spire. Inside the tower is an antique clock mechanism manufactured in 1858 by Carl Weiss, a renowned clockmaker from Glogow. There are also three bells: from 1714, 1735, and a third also from the 18th century. The current town hall building dates back to the first half of the 19th century and, in keeping with tradition, is the seat of local government. Inside the building is a beautiful, historic city council meeting room. In the past, the city hall served not only administrative functions. In 1791-1902, until the establishment of the Protestant church (now the Catholic Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on Staszica Street), the aforementioned meeting room served the Protestant community as a prayer room. Since 1825, the city hall housed the municipal savings bank, and in the 1920s various offices and offices: police, housing, electrification, social and magistrate.
