Żegluga Ostródzko-Elbląska is a company with more than 145 years of tradition The ships of our company sail on the unique Ostróda-Elbląg Canal and the Ostróda-Iława Lake District.m. Our advantages are the pristine nature, clean air and waters of the lakes. The picturesque shores are inhabited by birds and forest animals, the lower part of the trail passes through the largest waterfowl reserve in Poland. The main attraction is the world's only functioning system of slipways. Individual slipways using water propulsion move ships up or down on land (depending on the direction of travel). Ships on five consecutive slipways overcome an almost 100-meter difference in level while "sailing" on land. Participation in the cruise allows you to closely follow the operation of docking ships on carts, take part in a "grass ship ride" as well as learn about the vertical movement of the ship with the help of locks. From the deck of the ship you can perfectly observe the natural environment. You can get to know the Ostróda-Elbląg Canal most thoroughly by taking part in the entire cruise on the Ostróda-Elbląg route or vice versa. The ships take max. 65 people and have two decks. The upper unsheltered one provides an excellent view and sunbathing, while the lower deck is a spacious room that protects from the sun or rain and gives the opportunity to use the buffet or toilets. It is also possible to sail on the smaller 36- and 12-passenger ships, which sail only on Lake Drwęckie in Ostróda.
