The island is located between the Oder River and the Młynówka River in Opole. It constitutes an active part of the city. Public transportation, residential areas, as well as numerous institutions function here.them and municipal offices. These can include, among others: Millennium Amphitheater, the Marshal's Office and the Opole Provincial Office. On the island is the Piast Tower, which is a remnant of the Piast Castle, and a medieval fortified castle of the Opole region.
