Ojcow Castle is located within the Ojcow National Park, in the center of Ojcow, was a fortified castle erected by Casimir the Great in the second half of the 14th centuryu. Today only its ruins remain.Tradition has it that the name of the fortress, in its original form sounding Ociec, was given by the king himself, in memory of the fight for the Cracow throne of his father, Wladyslaw Lokietek, who found refuge in the surrounding caves.
