Among the many exhibits, which number more than 7,000 pieces depicting the culture and former life of the townspeople of Nowy Targ, noteworthy are temporary exhibitions and a unique printing machine dating back to the first half of the 19th century. Work is currently underway to put the monument into operation, so you will be able to see firsthand what printing looked like in a bygone era. The pride of the Podhale Museum is its rich collection of sculptures and paintings by Nowy Targ primitivist artist Edward Sutor, known as "Nowy Targ's Nikifor." Sutor is a well-known and respected figure in the circles of people associated with art, He was an amateur sculptor but, most importantly, self-taught. The artist's works trigger emotions that do not allow you to pass by them indifferently. The papal exhibition brings together memorabilia related to the person of the Polish Pope. Most of the exhibits on display come from private collections and relate to the Cracow period as well as the time of the pontificate. Many of the exhibits made available to visitors bear the mark of relics. On display are, among other things, documents confirming Karol Wojtyla's course of study at Jagiellonian University, a master's degree in theology, a handwritten curriculum vitae and numerous medals and documents issued by the Vatican during the pontificate of John Paul II.
