25.03.2010The museum is housed in a mansion, probably built in 1798-1800 in a modest classical style, by Kacper Walewski. The museum was established in 1969 on the occasion of the 400-The anniversary of the death of Mikołaj Rej. The museum illustrates the writer's ties to Naglowice and the importance of his work for both writing and Polish culture as a whole. It houses an exhibition of reproductions depicting the life and writing achievements of Mikołaj Rej. The woodcuts feature excerpts from the writer's works and notes from his biography. The showcases contain interesting texts in manuscript copies - these include "Tax Return" and "Letter to a Neighbor". After Mikołaj Rej in Nagłowice there are preserved aged oak trees in the park, which according to tradition he planted. Yew trees and specimens of Podolia wigwort, rare in Poland, also grow.
