"Buczyna Nad Słupią "is a forest nature reserve located in the belt of Pobrzeże Słowińskie, at the borders of Ustka Zachodnia. The reason for which the reserve was established in 1987,was to protect the 100-year-old beech forest, which is one of the last preserved fragments of the original forest in Pomerania, in particular, the extremely rare fertile beech lowland. The biggest peculiarity of the reserve is the huge beech trees growing in clumps on the slopes of the valley sometimes a dozen trunks in one clump. The waters of the Slupia River are a refuge and ecological corridor for many species of fish, including salmon, river lamprey, sea trout - genetically different from their cousins. The current of the swiftly meandering river undercuts the right bank, making it very steep, and the height difference between the valley floor and its edge reaches up to 12 meters. To facilitate sightseeing, a 2-kilometer nature trail with 5 stops was created in the reserve in 1999. The captivating landscape, picturesque meanders constantly sculpted by the river, unique vegetation and the multitude of fauna found here make this place unique and worth a visit.
