The island is located in the Strange Strait, which connects the waters of the Szczecin Channel to the Baltic Sea. The area of the island lies within the borders of Kamień Pomorski municipality and is connected to the sthe mainland by means of a bridge. The island of Chrzszczewo is inhabited by residents of 3 villages: Chrzszczewo, Chrzszczewko and Buniewice. Among other things, it is home to: the Vyshava hill, a megalithic barrow and oil wells. At the shore of the island is a famous erratic boulder with a circumference of 20 meters and a height of 3.5 meters. The area of the island is protected by areas from the Natura 2000 network: , "Kamieński Lagoon and Dziwna" and , "Ujście Odry i Zalew Szczeciński", habitats and birds are protected. The area of the island is about 10 sq. km.
