Spalsky Landscape Park

Feedback

  • The Spalsky Landscape Park covers an area of about 13,000 hectares, and its buffer zone is about 24,000 hectares. It is located on the territory of eight municipalities of the Tomaszowske and Opoczynski districts: Inowłódz, Poświętne, Rzeczyca, Tomaszów Mazowiecki, Lubochnia, Czerniewice, Opoczno and Slawno. Its main asset is the valley of the Pilica River and extensive forest complexes that are a fragment of the former Pilica Forest. The meandering river has outstanding scenic qualities, and creates good habitat conditions for many plant and animal species. In and around the Park there are not only natural attractions, but also many interesting monuments (including the Romanesque Church of St. Idzi in Inowłodz, former tsarist buildings in Spala and a number of attractions in Tomaszów Mazowiecki). Spala Landscape Park is an excellent place for various types of tourism. Particularly popular among visitors is canoeing on the Pilica River.
