The Sulejowski Landscape Park was established in 1994 and, together with the buffer zone, covers an area of 56,371 hectares. Together with the protection zone, it lies entirely within the borders of Lodz province. On thesehe area of the landscape park has created 11 nature reserves. A bicycle path named after Zygmunt Goliath (originator and co-creator of the path) runs through its territory. The river landscape along the Pilica River valley and inanimate nature objects are protected here. The most well-known object in the Sulejowski Landscape Park is the Sulejowski Reservoir, created on the Pilica River in 1969-1973. Initially, it was intended to serve primarily as a protection against floods, as well as a source of drinking water for Lodz. Over time, however, the recreational function grew in importance. Today it is one of the most popular weekend and holiday destinations for residents of central Poland.
