Megalithic tombs in the villages: Wietrzychowice (5 tombs) and Gaj (1) are called Kujawy tombs or Polish pyramids. They are among the most impressive monuments of prehistoric sites in Europe. The sites date back to 5500 years ago and are the work of the Funnel Puff people. They are shaped like trapezoidal earthen mounds more than 100 meters long and about 3 meters high. They were encased with erratic boulders weighing up to 10 tons. Individual tombs contained the remains of at most a few people, probably members of the tribal elders. Archaeological research conducted in the interwar years became a European sensation. They also continued during the communist period. Among other things, the research made it possible to conclude that trepanation of skulls had already been used successfully in the Stone Age. In 2006, a resolution of the Municipal and Town Council established a cultural park called "Wietrzychowice Cultural Park in Wietrzychowice and Gaj, Izbica Kujawska municipality."
