The horse-drawn streetcar that ran on the Mrozy - Rudka route between 1902 and 1967 returned to Mrozy on October 28, 2011. Its history is connected with the construction of a hospital inRude which was established as a result of the expanding tuberculosis epidemic in 1898. At the time, Theodore Dunin, a prominent bacteriologist, called for the establishment of a specialized hospital where patients could recover. His project won the approval of many prominent scientists. Due to the climate, the ideal place turned out to be Rudka near Frost, where construction of the hospital began in 1902. The sanatorium was located a few kilometers from the train station, where building materials brought by train from Warsaw were unloaded. To facilitate their transport to Rudka, tracks were laid for the railroad. Construction of the hospital took six years. The first patients appeared in Rudka on November 29, 1908. On that day, for the first time, a horse-drawn streetcar transported people instead of construction materials. The railroad ran up to six times a day for 59 years, leaving for the last time in 1967. The tracks were dismantled in the early 1970s, and the carriage was donated to the Railway Museum in Sochaczew. Several years ago, the local government of the Mrozy municipality, together with the Association of Friends of Mrozy, decided to rebuild the horse-drawn streetcar. The Minister of the Environment gave permission for it to run again in the "Rudka Sanatorium" reserve, through which the route ran, the municipality received a grant from the RDP, the route was reconstructed, sleepers were laid, a replica wagon was made, and rails were installed on the route of less than 2 km. Currently, the horse-drawn streetcar on the route Mrozy - Rudka runs regularly: on Saturdays from 15:00 - 20:00 (last course at 19:00) and on Sundays from 12:00 - 20:00 (last course at 19:00) Departures from Mrozy towards Rudka every hour.
