The HOKKA HEY Indian Village in Kunowa is a place in the Subcarpathian region where, among several Indian tepees, you can see what life was like for the indigenous inhabitants of North Americanej. An additional attraction of this place is a mini zoo whose inhabitants include a kangaroo, llama and Cameroonian goat. History lovers will also find something for themselves here. According to legend, a castle built of stone stood in Kunowa on the promontory of a lofty hill, descending steeply towards the Ropa River. Legend also has it that Queen Jadwiga herself often visited the castle whenever she played in Biecz. Historical documents state that Ladislaus Jagiello stayed in Biecz as many as sixteen times, the queen probably many more. After Jadwiga's untimely death, the castle in Kunowa was given to the king's second wife Anna Cilenska, granddaughter of Casimir the Great. Proof that the legend hides a shred of truth are burnt bricks dug up by farmers from deeper in the ground.
